Job summary

Xcimer Energy in Denver, CO is seeking a Mechanical Engineer - Pulsed Power to lead design, integration, and operation of high voltage pulsed power systems for lasers used in IFE power generation, from prototype to demonstration.

You will ensure hardware meets performance, collaborate across mechanical, laser, controls, pulsed power and optical teams, and contribute to scaling designs for reactors.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical, Nuclear, Aerospace or related field.
• 3+ years in mechanical engineering with high voltage pulsed power design.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD (NX preferred) and FEA.
• U.S. citizenship or permanent resident or valid immigration status as required.

Responsibilities

• Design equipment using NX CAD and document interfaces.
• Develop and specify pulsed power generator components to meet requirements.
• Work with vendors for custom and off-the-shelf devices and instruments.
• Lead design efforts for prototype systems and subsystems.
• Collaborate with mechanical, laser, controls, pulsed power, and optical engineers.
• Oversee assembly, testing, and failure analysis of pulsed power systems and laser equipment.
