Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to lead the delivery of mechanical and plumbing utilities for buildings and process equipment. You will develop supply strategy, dimensioning and back-up considerations, and work with design, installation, commissioning and running-in teams to ensure all equipment is supplied where required.

You will coordinate with environment, safety and MMR groups, supervise suppliers and contractors, and ensure documentation is created and archived per company

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• 4+ years of experience in a similar position with site installation, mechanical design, machine construction, or design specifications
• 3D modelling using Inventor or a similar program
• Ability to travel nationally and internationally ~60% of the time
• Extended periods at project sites may be required (temporary relocation)
• Strong communication skills
• Confidentiality with proprietary processes
• Preference for candidates with smith, mechanic or other craftsman expertise

Job description

• You'll be instrumental in the delivery of mechanical and plumbing utilities to ensure that all buildings, and all process equipment demand for utilities are fulfilled.
• This includes supply strategy, dimensioning and back-up considerations.
• You'll work with design, installation, commissioning, and running-in of major projects, including that all equipment within the factory are supplied where required including: main utility supply strategy, tank requirements and installations, pump supply, dimensioning and redundancy (back-up supply) considerations.
• Ensure that the necessary expertise from other departments - environment, safety, MMR’s, are included in the solutions.
• Communicate and supervise suppliers/contractors to place orders and follow up to ensure compliance with requirements.
• Ensure all documentation / reporting is done and archived following company directives and Group Technology rules, and available tools.

Requirements
