Job summary

Sora Resource Group seeks a Mechanical Engineer in Carlsbad, CA to design, develop, and qualify complex mechanical and electro‑mechanical assemblies within a collaborative program team. You will own major system components and perform 3D modeling while working hands‑on in our lab environment.

Requirements include an active TS/SCI clearance with poly, US citizenship, a Bachelor’s degree with at least six years of related experience (or a graduate degree with four years; or ten years in lieu of a

Qualifications

Active TS/SCI w Poly security clearance.
Experience in design or development of precision mechanisms, mechatronic systems, and/or packaging.
Proficiency in CAD tools.
Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience.
Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
Active Top Secret or Top Secret/SCI clearance is required.
Favorable polygraph.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and qualify complex mechanical systems, including precision mechanisms and electro-mechanical assemblies.
Take ownership of significant system components and provide program support and technical leadership across the full product lifecycle.
Perform requirements definition, concept generation, material selection, trade studies, design sensitivity and optimization analyses, preliminary and final design, design documentation, and assembly, integration, and testing.
Center daily work on 3D modeling and critical hardware design and development; work hands-on in the lab.
