Job summary

Keystone Distinction Group in Carlsbad, CA seeks a Mechanical Engineer to design, develop, and qualify complex mechanical systems, including precision mechanisms and electro-mechanical assemblies.

You will own significant system components, lead design studies, and work hands-on in our lab with a multidisciplinary team to support the full product lifecycle, from requirements to testing and integration.

Job Description:

We're seeking a driven Mechanical Engineer to design, develop, and qualify complex mechanical systems, including precision mechanisms and electro-mechanical assemblies, within a collaborative program team environment.

You’ll take ownership of significant system components while adapting flexibly to evolving program needs. This role may require you to provide program support and technical leadership across the full product lifecycle, including requirements definition, concept generation, material selection, trade studies, design sensitivity and optimization analyses, preliminary and final design, design documentation, and assembly, integration, and testing.

Your day-to-day work will center on 3D modeling and critical hardware design and development, operating independently within a multidisciplinary team. You’ll spend significant time in our lab environment working hands‑on with hardware.

Skills and Certifications

• Active TS/SCI w Poly security clearance
• Experience in design or development of precision mechanisms, mechatronic systems, and/or packaging
• Proficiency in CAD tools

Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.

Active Top Secret or Top Secret/SCI clearance is required. (Active within the last two years will be considered)
