Qualifications

• BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in mechanism design and kinematics.
• Proficiency with solid modeling tools (e.g., Pro/E) and FEA.
• Deep understanding of materials, including steel and aluminum, and surface finishes.
• Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Desire to innovate in mechanism design for connector products and processes.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop connector alignment mechanisms with pins, bearings, and springs.
• Integrate new technologies, innovative manufacturing methods, and cost-effective initiatives into mechanism designs.
• Manage component-level documentation and specifications, including manufacturing processes and field performance.
• Serve as the customer focal point for technical information on mechanisms and guidance.
• Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturing to prototype mechanisms and test misalignment tolerance.
• Oversee the transition from NPI to volume manufacturing in low-cost regions.
• Provide technical assistance to drafters and engineers to ensure accurate implementation of designs.
• Support design with tolerance analysis, FEA, and material evaluations for mechanical components.
• Identify new materials and coatings and benchmark them; participate in innovative manufacturing techniques.
• Participate in design reviews, testing, and qualification of new mechanisms.
