Job summary

Panelmatic, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Mechanical Engineer to design and review models and BOMs for power distribution equipment including Metal-Clad Switchgear, Metal-Closed Switchgear and Panelboards.

The role involves converting electrical drawings into a complete mechanical package and releasing BOMs for purchasing and fabrication. Ideal candidates have a BS in Mechanical Engineering, 1–3 years in sheet metal design, and hands-on experience with AutoCAD and SolidWorks, along with

Qualifications

• 1-3 years experience in sheet metal design, with a preference for medium voltage switchgear design or UL891 switchboard
• BS in Mechanical Engineering degree required
• Knowledge of typical mechanical design principles
• Experience creating 3D renderings and side views from single line/elevation drawings
• Familiarity with ANSI, ASME, NEC and UL standards
• AutoCAD and SolidWorks experience preferred
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects with changing priorities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• US work authorization without sponsorship required
• Growth mindset with the ability to accept challenges
• Ability to lift 50lbs+ and sit/stand for extended periods

Responsibilities

• Review electrical diagrams and requirements from electrical engineering
• Convert electrical drawings into a mechanical package including elevations, section views and BOM
• Provide electrical engineering with mechanical components of drawing package
• Release BOM for purchasing and fabrication
• Incorporate new product designs and modifications into production engineering systems
• Provide manufacturing support on project questions and issues
• Interact with electrical engineering and project management as required
• Communicate job status and issues with supervisor
