Job summary

Midrex Technologies Inc is seeking an entry-level Mechanical Engineer to design systems and equipment for Direct Reduction plants and new technology initiatives. You will sketch concepts, develop mechanical drawings, and support Aftermarket, Inspections, and Purchasing with vendor submittals and on-site visits.

The role requires strong mechanical engineering fundamentals, clear technical writing, and the ability to travel 10–25% internationally and domestically.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
• Entry level candidates will be considered.
• Willingness to travel 10–25% internationally and domestically.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical systems and equipment for Direct Reduction plants and new technology initiatives.
• Sketch conceptual designs and translate ideas to the designers for development of mechanical drawings.
• Provide technical support for Aftermarket, Inspections, and Purchasing with review of vendor submittals and on-site inspections of mechanical equipment.
• Provide direction and technical support for designers and review designs for adherence to specifications, codes, and standards.
• Travel to fabrication workshops and job sites to analyze equipment and gather operating data; interact with plant personnel and fabricators.
• Write Technical Specifications for mechanical equipment design, fabrication, and procurement.
• Coordinate with other departments and outside consultants/clients; propose and design equipment design improvements.
