Job summary

Cromwell Architects Engineers is seeking an A/E Mechanical Engineer or Designer to lead HVAC design and hydronic piping for diverse environments. You will work with architects, engineers, and builders during construction, developing specifications, performing load calculations, and reviewing drawings.

Ideal candidates have a Mechanical Engineering degree, 5+ years of HVAC experience, and proficiency in Revit. PE license is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
• 5+ years experience in HVAC systems, field surveys and construction punch lists.
• PE license preferred but experience will be considered.
• Experience in Plumbing design is a plus.
• Proficiency in Revit is required.

Responsibilities

• Manage multi-discipline design teams on select small projects through construction.
• Perform heating and cooling load calculations.
• HVAC system design including air distribution, hydronic piping, system and equipment selection and HVAC control systems.
• Prepare specifications based on design.
• Review design drawings against plans and specs.
• Perform assessments of existing building HVAC and plumbing systems.
• Conduct on-site inspections during construction to ensure compliance with codes and standards.
• Stay updated on HVAC technologies and test new systems and materials.
• Meet with owners to understand project requirements.
• Mentor less experienced engineers and interns.

A/E Mechanical Engineer or Designer

Position Purpose

The Mechanical Engineer or Designer will lead design and develop specifications of air distribution, hydronic piping and HVAC control systems and heating and cooling load calculations for various environments. They will work closely with architects, engineers and builders during the construction phase.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
