A leading engineering firm in Nashville is seeking a Mid-Senior level Mechanical Engineer designer to handle HVAC and plumbing design projects. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, an EIT, and a professional license, along with over 5 years of experience in commercial building design. Proficiency in Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD is required. This is a full-time position with site visits and teamwork essential to the role.
Qualifications
5+ years of relevant experience in HVAC and plumbing design of commercial buildings.
Experience working remotely.
Proficient in plumbing load calculations, pump sizing, and pipe sizing.
Responsibilities
Answer RFIs and review contractor submittals.
Perform construction site visits as needed.
Represent company in design meetings with architects, engineers, and contractors.
Capability to perform construction site visits as needed for site walk-throughs
May be required to represent company in design meetings with Architect, Engineers, and Contractors
Qualifications
Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering
EIT MUST
Professional License
5+ years of relevant experience in HVAC and plumbing design of commercial buildings
Experience working remotely
Proficient in Autodesk Revit software using both 2D and 3D design
Proficient in AutoCAD software
Chilled Water Design Experience a MUST
Perform HVAC load calculations using Elite or Trane Trace software
Able to work in a team setting and offer guidance to mechanical designers
Able to manage mechanical and plumbing design projects and skill in writing specifications using Master Spec for small to medium size projects with minimal direction
Proficient in Direct Expansion (DX) and Chilled Water HVAC system design
Proficient in plumbing load calculations, pump sizing, pipe sizing, and hot water loop design
Proficient in adherence to ASHRAE 62.1, ASHRAE 90.1, IMC 2021, UMC 2021, IPC 2021, and UPC 2021 Codes during design
