Job summary

Hanwha Ocean EPU in Houston, TX is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to execute mechanical design activities for onshore and energy plant projects. The role supports development, review, and coordination of deliverables across concept, FEED, EPC(I), and construction phases.

Under the guidance of a Principal or Lead Engineer, you will review equipment, vendor documents, and interface with piping, process, and structural teams to ensure technically accurate results delivered on schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 5–8 years of mechanical engineering experience in onshore power plant, oil and gas, EPC, EPCI, shipbuilding, or energy plant projects.
• Hands‑on experience with mechanical package equipment, rotating/static equipment, vendor coordination, or detailed engineering execution.
• Working knowledge of mechanical engineering practices, project specifications, codes, and document control.
• Ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, vendors, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.
• Strong written and spoken English for technical coordination, review, and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare specifications, datasheets, calculations, equipment documentation, and design inputs for onshore plant projects.
• Support mechanical design activities for mechanical packages, rotating and static equipment.
• Review vendor and subcontractor documents (datasheets, P&IDs, GA drawings, weight data, calculations).
• Coordinate technical interfaces with piping, layout, process, structural, electrical, instrumentation, and construction teams.
• Check deliverables for compliance with codes, standards, and client requirements.
• Support feasibility studies, FEED, detailed engineering, construction, commissioning, and as‑built activities.
