Job summary

James Fisher Technologies (JFT) seeks a Mechanical Engineer to design, analyze, and deliver custom mechanical equipment for nuclear and high-integrity applications. You will own defined tasks, receive mentorship, and be evaluated to the appropriate level based on experience.

Responsibilities include working on complex projects with cross-functional teams; travel <10% and a 9/80 schedule; salary ranges from $90,000 to $139,000 per year, with opportunities for advancement. Candidates should have a Mechanical Engineering degree and CAD experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 2+ years of mechanical engineering and design experience.
• Experience with mechanical engineering calculations (FEA, stress/fatigue/vibration analysis).
• Experience in a manufacturing environment – machining, welding, assembly, testing.
• Proficient with 2D and 3D CAD software (AutoCAD, Inventor, SolidWorks).
• Strong collaboration and communication skills, with ability to identify risks and mitigation strategies.

Responsibilities

• Own defined design tasks and receive mentorship from senior leads.
• Lead complex technical work and review engineering deliverables.
• Hire ing and mentoring other engineers as needed.
• Develop and deliver mechanical equipment and systems for nuclear/high-integrity applications.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, manufacturing, quality, and project teams.
