Job summary

SAIC is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support Specialized Munitions for NSWC Crane, IN. Typical tasking includes engineering/planning for production projects, from short-term tactical planning to long-term strategic planning.

Mechanical engineering support includes CAD, cost estimates, project management, and technical writing, with Government submission for approvals and on-site collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and 2 years of experience.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office (Word, Excel, databases).
• Ability to engage Government customer to capture new construction or repair of customer assets and sustainment requirements.

Responsibilities

• Engineering planning for production projects, from short-term tactical planning to long-term strategic planning.
• CAD drawings and bill of materials for requested systems and designs.
• Develop scope of work, prepare parametric cost estimates, and create project schedules.
• Provide project management expertise to track cost, schedule, and performance.
• Submit recommendations and documents to the Government for approval.
• Support operations and sustainment planning meetings and report status.
