Job summary

SAIC is seeking a Mechanical Engineer in Crane, IN to support investigations, troubleshooting, and fleet issue resolution for Navy systems. You will contribute to engineering change processes, develop MRCs, and coordinate with OEMs/ISEAs to ensure maintenance standards are met.

The role involves testing planning, data review, and documentation updates, with an emphasis on reliability and compliance. On-site position supporting naval hardware and system improvements.

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelors with 5 years or Masters with 3 years of relevant experience.
• Must be eligible for an Interim Secret Clearance.
• Prior experience with the Navy's SLQ-32 system.

Responsibilities

• Analyze system deficiencies, root causes, and corrective actions for Investigations (EIs).
• Provide troubleshooting support for AN/SLQ-32(V)6 systems, including remote engineering assistance.
• Develop system knowledge to support fleet issue resolution.
• Assist in development, review, and coordination of Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs).
• Interface with OEMs and In-Service Engineering Agencies (ISEAs).
• Support evaluations, impact assessments, and documentation updates related to ECPs.
• Review MRCs and update them based on changes and fleet feedback.
• Develop new MRCs based on engineering changes and system updates.
• Ensure alignment with Navy maintenance standards and configuration.
• Support planning and execution of Environmental Qualification Testing (EQT).
• Review test data and reports for technical accuracy and compliance.
• Prepare and review technical documentation, reports, and artifacts.
• Maintain records of engineering activities, test results, and configuration updates.

• Provide technical troubleshooting support for AN/SLQ‑32(V)6 systems, including remote (distance)
  engineering assistance.
• Develop system-level knowledge to support fleet issue resolution.
• Assist in the development, review, and coordination of Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs).
• Interface with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and In-Service Engineering Agencies (ISEAs).
• Support technical evaluations, impact assessments, and documentation updates related to ECPs.
• Conduct periodic reviews and updates of existing Maintenance Requirement Cards (MRCs).
• Develop new MRCs based on engineering changes, system updates, and fleet feedback.
• Ensure alignment with Navy maintenance standards and system configuration.
• Support planning and execution of Environmental Qualification Testing (EQT).
• Review test data and reports for technical accuracy and compliance.
• Assist in preparation and review of technical documentation, reports, and engineering artifacts.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field and five (5) years of relevant experience OR Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field and three (3) years of relevant experience.
