Job summary

BLADE in Fredericksburg, VA is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to contribute to requirements analysis, concept generation, mechanical design, testing and documentation for military, government and commercial customers. This position emphasizes CBRN and containerized weapon systems.

The role involves design, analysis, drafting production drawings with SolidWorks, BOM creation in Excel and SAP, and support across labs and production. On-site work only.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 4–6 years of relevant engineering experience.
• Experience with MIL-STD-810/461/464 preferred.
• SolidWorks CAD experience required.
• Knowledge of GD&T and manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Perform design, trade studies, and research for mechanical/electrical systems.
• Draft production drawings for machined parts, weldments, and assemblies.
• Conduct static/dynamic analysis and FEAs on components and systems.
• Create/maintain BOMs in Excel and SAP.
• Support lab and production with assembly and inspection of prototypes.
