Job summary

Cherokee Federal in Hawaii is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to lead Sub-AMP development and support lifecycle management of HVAC, water, wastewater, and other mechanical utilities at Hickam Air Force Base. This onsite role requires CAC clearance and DoD suitability, with responsibilities spanning planning, forecasting, and system assessments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum five years of mechanical engineering experience.
• Minimum three years of military facility or infrastructure experience.
• Must pass pre-employment qualifications and CAC clearance.

Responsibilities

• Analyze BUILDER SMS and Utilities SMS data to develop Sub-AMPs.
• Prepare five-year and ten-year mechanical infrastructure forecasts and lifecycle investment plans.
• Assess condition and capacity of water, wastewater, natural-gas, HVAC, plumbing, and related mechanical systems.
• Identify mechanical-utility risks, including single points of failure, and develop mitigation strategies.
• Identify energy-conservation and optimization opportunities and prepare return-on-investment analyses.
• Translate AMP priorities into project requirements, statements of work, cost-estimate inputs, and DD Form 1391 inputs.
• Conduct physical inventories and support Sustainment Management System updates.
• Coordinate with planners, engineers, environmental staff, mission partners, and other stakeholders.
