Job summary

System One is seeking a high-caliber Mechanical Engineer to join an engineering team in Oak Harbor, OH. This contract role focuses on nuclear project work and onsite execution with 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, design, procure and oversee installation of mechanical systems and equipment.
  • Complete project objectives on time under direction of Sr. Mechanical Engineer.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and reports.
  • Assist drafters using CAD and 3D design software.
  • Research, design, evaluate, and supervise equipment installations.
  • Conduct feasibility and performance analyses of equipment and systems.
  • Develop and test alternate designs and processing methods.
  • Specify components and ensure conformance with specs.
  • Apply standard engineering techniques with minor adaptations.
  • Present technical information for review and procedure implementation.
  • Provide discipline-specific training for personnel and customers.

Overview

System One is e are seeking a high-caliber Mechanical Engineer to join an engineering team in Oak Harbor, OH. This role is part of team working on nuclear project.

Mechanical Engineer Responsibilities
  • Work on planning, design, procurement, and quality of installation of mechanical systems and equipment.
  • Complete project specific objectives on time, under direction of Sr. Mechanical Engineer; receive instructions on specific assignment objectives, complex features, and possible solutions.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, or computer-generated reports.
  • Assist mechanical designers and drafters in developing the structural design of equipment and piping systems using computer-assisted design (CAD) and 3D design software.
  • Research, design, evaluate, and oversee the installation of equipment, systems, and processes to meet requirements applying knowledge of engineering principles.
  • Conduct research that tests or analyzes the feasibility, design, operation, or performance of equipment, components, or systems.
  • Develop and test models of alternate designs and processing methods to assess feasibility, operating condition effects, possible new applications and necessity of modification.
  • Specify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications.
  • Independently evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications.
  • Present technical information to peers or other personnel for review, to implement operating procedures, and resolve system malfunctions.
  • Provide specific to discipline technical expertise to the degree of preparing and providing training for other personnel; both within the company and for the customer.
Mechanical Engineer Requirements
  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field.
  • Power Plant, Process, and/or Heavy Industrial Design experience.
  • Pipe Stress Analysis.
  • Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology.
  • Complex Problem Solving.
  • Good Communication Skills (Active Listening, Verbal and Written).
  • Critical Thinking.
  • Judgment and Decision Making.
  • Attention to Detail.
  • Strong desire to learn.
  • Must be a US Citizen due to Nuclear restrictions.
  • FE and PE or willingness to obtain both.
  • Energy and Chemical and/or Power Design Engineering Experience.
