Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering is required.
• Minimum 5 years of mechanical engineering experience.
• Military facility/infrastructure experience is preferred.

• Develop mechanical Sub-AMPs using BUILDER SMS and Utilities SMS data, including asset‑degradation forecasts and lifecycle replacement requirements.
• Evaluate condition and capacity of water, wastewater, and natural gas systems to support Utilities AMP planning.
• Identify energy‑conservation opportunities and incorporate them into AMP project prioritization.
• Translate Sub‑AMP findings into actionable project requirements, including DD Form 1391 inputs, statements of work, and cost estimates.
• Conduct physical inventories and compliance inspections of leased and federally owned facilities every five years and three years for historic properties.
• Collaborate across multiple flights and coordinate utility infrastructure projects with mission partners and design agencies.

Tactica Solutions is searching for a Mechanical Engineer to support long-term planning for mechanical utilities and facility systems. This role develops reliable asset-management strategies that improve system performance, resilience, and lifecycle decision-making.

Location: Hickam Air Force Base, Hawaii.

• Develop mechanical Sub-AMPs using BUILDER Sustainment Management System (SMS) and Utilities SMS data, including asset‑degradation forecasts and lifecycle replacement requirements.
• Evaluate the condition and capacity of water, wastewater, and natural gas systems to support Utilities AMP planning and reduce risks associated with single points of failure.
• Identify energy‑conservation and system‑optimization opportunities and incorporate them into AMP project prioritization.
• Translate Mechanical Sub‑AMP findings into actionable project requirements, including DD Form 1391 inputs, statements of work, and cost estimates for failing or high-risk assets.
• Conduct physical inventories and compliance inspections of leased and federally owned facilities, including plants, systems, installed equipment, occupants, and facility footprints, every five years and every three years for historic properties.
• Collaborate across multiple flights and serve as a project liaison with mission partners, community leaders, and design agencies to coordinate utility infrastructure projects.
• Education / Certification: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or an equivalent field from an institution accredited in the United States.
• Required Experience: At least 3 years of military facility/infrastructure experience.
• Required Experience: At least 5 years of mechanical engineering experience.
• Clearance: Satisfactory outcome of a background investigation for Tier 1 access is required.

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Position may require typing and reading from a computer screen. Must have sufficient mobility, including but not limited to bending, reaching, and kneeling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner. May include lifting weight up to thirty (30) pounds as necessary.
