Job summary

QuEra Computing in Boston, MA seeks a mid-level Mechanical Engineer to join the QPU Hardware Engineering team. You will bridge design, manufacturing, and supply chain to ensure accurate documentation and smooth new product introductions for our neutral atom quantum computers.

You will update designs, perform DFM/DFA reviews, maintain CAD/PLM data, and coordinate with vendors. The ideal candidate has Inventor experience, GD&T knowledge, and hands-on fabrication exposure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in mechanical design and creating manufacturing documentation for outsourcing production.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (preferably Inventor) and PDM software (preferably Autodesk Vault).
• Strong understanding of fabrication, machining, sheet metal, and electromechanical/optomechanical assembly techniques.
• Experience with PLM and configuration management processes (ECO/ECR/MCO).

Responsibilities

• Ensure documentation packages are accurate and ready to transfer to suppliers and contract manufacturers.
• Update designs, conduct DFM/DFA reviews, and maintain documentation for customized products.
• Author and maintain assembly and inspection procedures for mechanical, electro-mechanical, and opto-mechanical modules.
• Manage CAD/PLM data and release technical documentation to external vendors.
• Coordinate with suppliers to troubleshoot production issues and update BOM data.
• Interact with sourcing teams to resolve supplier discrepancies and support module design as needed.
