Job summary

QuEra Computing Inc. in Boston, MA is seeking a hands-on Mechanical Technician to support the Hardware Engineering team, fabricating and assembling mechanical systems inside quantum computers, and turning in-house knowledge into repeatable procedures.

You will work with engineers and scientists on live machines, perform precision assembly, testing, and troubleshooting, and help maintain a safe, organized shop with documentation and SOPs.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years as a mechanical technician or assembler.
• Experience with fluid systems (1/8"–1/2" dia) and small electronics build.
• Able to learn quickly and follow procedures.
• Understanding of machining basics and safe tool use.

Responsibilities

• Machine and assemble mechanical subassemblies per documented procedures.
• Perform torque, cleanliness, and serialization tasks in the shop.
• Test, inspect, troubleshoot, and drive fixes for mechanical systems.
