Dynamic Fabrication in Brea, CA is seeking a Mechanical Engineer Manager who will lead a team of engineers, planners, and programmers while staying hands-on. You will define drawings and designs with precision, oversee projects from concept to completion, and ensure safety, quality, and performance standards are met.

You will collaborate across departments, mentor staff, and drive continuous improvement while delivering on-time results and supporting production in a high-stakes aerospace

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace or Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of managing mechanical engineering projects in industrial/manufacturing/aerospace.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to safety standards.
• Excellent communication skills to present technical info to non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Create schematics and manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks for production.
• Oversee work plans for production, OSP, and inspection.
• Collaborate with other departments for technical solutions.
• Develop engineer solutions and proposal documentation for RFQs.
• Lead, mentor, and train staff engineers.
• Hold regular meetings to review priorities and ensure on-time delivery and quality.

Role Description

The Mechanical Engineer Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in the Brea, CA. As the Mechanical Engineer Manager, you'll lead a team of engineers, planners, and programmers while remaining deeply connected to the technical work. You will provide specifications on drawings or designs down to the minutia so our teams can bring them to life. This role oversees mechanical engineering projects from concept through completion, gets hands-on, tests and collaborates across other departments to ensure designs, specifications, and deliverables meet safety, quality, and performance standards while also resolving any engineering issues that may arise during development, testing, and implementation.

Day in the life responsibilities may include:

• Create schematics, manufacturing drawing using Solidworks for production to correspond with the production work orders.
• Process and oversee work plans for production, OSP, and Inspection
• Work with other departments for technical solutions
• Develop engineer solutions and proposal documentation for RFQs
• Develops, leads, and witness testing
• Manage, mentor, develop, and train staff engineers
• Leads regular meetings with engineering team to review priorities, remove roadblocks, and reinforce accountability for task completion to meet on time delivery and quality metrics.
• Clearly defines task ownership, deliverables, and due dates for the engineer team and follows up proactively to ensure on-time execution to support production

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong Engineering Management and Project Management skills, including planning, resource allocation, and oversight of complex mechanical engineering initiatives.
• Candidates should possess Team Leadership skills, with experience guiding engineers, fostering collaboration, and promoting a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
• Candidates should possess Software skills relevant to mechanical engineering (e.g., SolidWorks, GD&T and other simulation software, or engineering applications) to support design, analysis, and documentation.
• Candidates should possess a great understanding of welding concepts and impact of the elements on welding. Welding experience is not necessary but a plus.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace or Manufacturing Engineering or a closely related field; or the equivalent of a degree in years of work experience.
• 10+ years of experience managing mechanical engineering projects in an industrial, manufacturing, or aerospace similar environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and adherence to safety and regulatory standards.
• Effective communication skills, including the ability to present technical information to non-technical stakeholders and collaborate across departments as well as provide simplified, clear, precise instructions to team members and ensure information is understood.
