Philips is offering an Intern/Co-op position in STET Mechanical Engineering at the Latham, NY site for Spring/Summer 2027. This paid 3–6 month program targets undergrad or grad students in Mechanical Engineering and provides hands-on work in design, manufacture, validation, and continuous improvement of MRI magnet systems.

You will engage with multiple engineering teams to drive product/process improvements, perform documentation and analysis tasks, and participate in hands-on manufacturing

Qualifications

• Pursuing BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Paid 3–6 month internship or co-op starting Jan 2027.
• Experience with mechanical design fundamentals and data analysis using Excel.
• CAD, statistics, or manufacturing processes experience is a bonus.
• Previous internship/co-op involving mechanical systems or process improvement is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support mechanical engineering activities for MRI magnet manufacturing, focusing on product and process improvements to safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Product Industrialization, Quality, Operations, R&D, Supply Chain and suppliers to investigate issues and implement solutions.
• Assist with engineering documentation and execution, including requirements, process updates, drawings, FMEAs, validation deliverables, data collection and reports.
• Participate in hands-on shop-floor activities, observe processes, support trials, collect/analyze data, and document results.
