Amrize is seeking a Mechanical Engineer Intern for Summer 2027 at the Alpena Cement Plant in Alpena, MI. This 10-week paid internship offers hands-on experience in cement production, with mentors guiding you through maintenance, P&ID drawings, and safety protocols.

You will gain exposure to AutoCAD, field data, and executive presentations, while developing engineering fundamentals and teamwork in a high-performance plant environment.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program majoring in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Strong academic performance with solid engineering principles.
• Willingness to spend significant time in the field at Alpena site.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintenance, repair, and optimization of mechanical equipment.
• Review and update P&ID drawings based on field data.
• Create/modify P&ID drawings using AutoCAD.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to interpret drawings and equipment layouts.
• Support safety protocol implementation and compliance.
• Present learnings to executive leadership at internship end.
