Job summary

Novelis Oswego is offering a summer internship for a Mechanical Technician intern to participate in hands-on maintenance and repairs in a manufacturing environment. You will work on maintenance, simple machinist tasks, and safety-compliant repairs under supervision.

The role provides exposure to electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic systems, and preventive maintenance, with an emphasis on teamwork and effective communication.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an accredited 2 year Mechanical Technology program.
• Interested in gaining hands-on industry experience prior to graduation.
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
• Must be currently authorized to work in the United States for any employer.

Responsibilities

• Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production.
• Perform simple machinist duties.
• Diagnose problems and repair parts; test and adjust.
• Carry out preventive maintenance on machines and facilities.
• Read manuals and work orders to perform maintenance.
