Job summary

Accenture Infrastructure and Capital Projects, LLC in St. Louis, Missouri is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead design assurance reviews for utility-scale CCGT projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 8+ years of mechanical engineering experience on large capital projects in power generation or process industries.
• Experience reviewing mechanical designs for large facilities through EPC phases.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical equipment, piping, valves, and balance-of-plant systems.
• Working knowledge of ASME, API, NFPA, ANSI, and related standards for utility-scale power.
• Ability to read and evaluate P&IDs, drawings, specs, and change documentation.
• Experience communicating with EoR engineers, contractors, OEMs, and client stakeholders.
• Ability to perform field walkdowns on active construction sites and comply with PPE requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform independent design assurance reviews of mechanical deliverables for utility-scale CCGT projects.
• Review mechanical drawings, P&IDs, equipment specifications, data sheets, calculations, layouts, and other deliverables for completeness, constructability, operability, and requirements.
• Provide technical oversight of major mechanical systems and interfaces, including gas turbines, HRSGs, steam turbines, condensate and feedwater systems, cooling, fuel gas, and balance-of-plant systems.
• Evaluate design interfaces and battery limits between OEM equipment, EoR, and field packages to identify gaps and risks before field execution.
• Review RFIs, technical queries, design deviations, field change notices, and scope changes; provide owner-side recommendations.
• Review NCRs and field issues; support mitigation plans with EoR, construction, OEMs and project leadership.
• Support constructability reviews and field walkdowns to verify design intent and maintainability.
• Support MOC by evaluating scope changes and updating drawings, specs, and schedules.
• Support system turnover, commissioning, startup, and performance testing with test packages and requirements.
• Collaborate with civil/structural, electrical, I&C, construction, commissioning, controls, and operations teams to resolve multidisciplinary issues.
• Document design assurance findings and provide technical recommendations to project management and client leadership.
• Promote safe design and construction practices and identify risks related to safety, reliability, operability, or asset performance.
• Onsite at client site: The work location is onsite in St. Louis, Missouri, to enable delivery and client relationships.
