Job summary

Wiley|Wilson in Richmond, VA is seeking a Mechanical Engineer-in-Training to join our Mechanical Engineering team. A new graduate will design HVAC, plumbing, and other mechanical systems for diverse projects under licensed engineers, gaining hands-on experience and starting toward PE licensure.

You'll develop mechanical plans, perform calculations, apply codes, and prepare technical documentation while collaborating with architects and Civil/Structural/Electrical teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from ABET-accredited institution.
• FE Exam passed by start date (or eligible).
• Revit experience preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; good interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop mechanical plans and designs for HVAC, plumbing, and related systems.
• Perform engineering calculations and apply relevant codes and standards.
• Prepare and review technical documentation and drawings.
• Assist with field investigations and testing to understand system installations.
• Collaborate with architects and other engineers to integrate building systems.
