Job summary

Wiley|Wilson is seeking a Mechanical Engineer-in-Training in our Alexandria, VA office to join the Mechanical Engineering team. The role supports designing HVAC, plumbing, and other mechanical systems, with hands-on experience across design phases and PE license preparation.

You will work under licensed engineers, develop mechanical plans, perform calculations, and learn how systems integrate within building projects while collaborating with architects and other engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• FE Exam passed by start date.
• Revit experience preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; solid work ethic and eagerness to learn.
• Eligible to work in the United States and able to obtain a security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop mechanical plans and designs for HVAC, plumbing, and other systems.
• Perform engineering calculations.
• Apply relevant codes and standards.
• Prepare and review technical documentation.
• Assist with field investigations and testing to understand how systems are installed.
