Job summary

Wiley|Wilson in Richmond, VA is seeking a Civil Engineer-in-Training to gain hands-on experience on site design and stormwater projects for Local, Federal, and State Government clients. You will work under licensed PEs to build the technical foundation needed for PE licensure.

You will prepare calculations, reports, and drawings; assist with site design and stormwater management; participate in field investigations; and perform research related to project design while collaborating with

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• FE Exam passed by start date.
• Civil 3D experience preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, a solid work ethic and interpersonal/communication abilities.
• Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States and be able to obtain a security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Prepare calculations, reports, and design drawings; assist with site design and stormwater management.
• Assist with quantity take-offs and cost estimates; collaborate with engineers and other design professionals across multiple disciplines.
• Participate in field investigations and research related to project design.

Are you ready to turn your Civil Engineering degree into real-world design experience? Wiley|Wilson, a 100% employee-owned architecture and engineering firm, is looking for a new graduate to join our Civil Engineering team in our Richmond, VA office.

As a Civil Engineer-in-Training (EIT), you'll work alongside experienced engineers on site design and stormwater management projects for Local, Federal, and State Government clients. You'll gain hands‑on experience across multiple phases of design while building the technical foundation and experience needed to pursue your Professional Engineer (PE) license.

Working under the guidance of licensed Professional Engineers, you'll contribute to real projects from the start. Your work will include preparing calculations, reports, and design drawings; assisting with site design and stormwater management; participating in field investigations; and performing research related to project design. You'll also assist with quantity take‑offs and cost estimates while collaborating with engineers and other design professionals across multiple disciplines.
