The primary responsibilities of a Mechanical Engineer include researching, planning, and designing mechanical and electromechanical products and systems for ASI's robotic unmanned vehicles. Designs, develop, and tests all aspects of mechanical components, equipment, and machinery. Applies engineering principles to design products such as engines, instruments, controls, robots, machines, etc. Conducts product testing and creates models and prototypes. Mechanical Engineers are also responsible for directing and coordinating activities involved in fabrication, operation, application, installation, and repair of mechanical or electromechanical products and systems. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. Reports to a manager/supervisor. Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature.
