Job summary

Epta Group in Columbus, GA is seeking a Mechanical Engineer III to own the structural design and reliability of refrigerated display cases. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into robust hardware.

The role requires a bachelor's degree in engineering and at least 5 years of experience, with hands-on CAD work and familiarity with structural analysis tools. HVAC&R exposure is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering.
• At least 5 years' related experience.
• Strong understanding of engineering science and technology.
• Solid knowledge of structural design and testing.
• Knowledge of design and testing for reliability.
• Microsoft Office proficiency.
• Basic CAD software knowledge.
• Basic structural analysis software knowledge.
• SAP knowledge is a plus.
• Experience producing precision plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
• HVAC&R industry experience is desirable.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
• Sense of ownership and urgency with projects.
• Design review experience for models and BOMs is a plus.
• Experience with sheet metal parts and plastics is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare design specifications, analyses and recommendations for approval.
• Lead technical projects from concept to production.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams for design and change implementation.
• Design/re-design products to improve performance and reduce costs while meeting regulatory requirements.
• Design for Manufacturability, Assembly and Reliability.
• Conduct investigations involving material origination or modification.
• Test and perform structural analysis of refrigerated cases.
