Job summary

Garmin International is seeking a full-time Mechanical Engineer 2 in the Santa Barbara area to develop mechanical solutions for semiconductor packaging and electronics systems. You will test, validate, and support designs from development through mass production, collaborating with electrical, manufacturing, and program teams.

Responsibilities include applying CAD and FEA to complex parts, participating in design reviews, and estimating tooling and design time for basic mechanical work, while

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or Manufacturing/Aerospace) with 1 year of relevant experience or an equivalent combination.
• GPA 3.0 or higher as a general rule.
• Demonstrates CAD modeling ability and use of engineering tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop moderately complex mechanical designs for semiconductor packaging and high-precision electronics.
• Own packaging and assembly processes from concept to mass production, including die attach and hermetic sealing.
