Westinghouse Electric Company is seeking an Engineer II - Mechanical at the Cranberry Township, PA location with a hybrid work schedule. The role involves performing design analyses of primary boundary components in Westinghouse nuclear plants, using Ansys and internal codes, and coordinating with teams to resolve technical challenges.

The ideal candidate holds a PE license and a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, with 3+ years of structural analysis or thermo-hydraulics experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering required. Mechanical engineering, Engineering Mechanics or Aerospace Engineering.
• 3+ years of experience in Component structural analysis or Thermo Hydraulics.

Responsibilities

• Perform design and analyses for repair, modification and qualification of components within the primary pressure boundary of Westinghouse designed nuclear power plants.
• Use of analysis tools such as finite element simulations (e.g. Ansys) and internal codes to qualify component design.
• Collaborate with subsystem leads to integrate designs and address emergent issues.
• Develop project schedules with project managers and leads.
• Identify technical risks and drive resolutions.
• Apply industry codes, standards and NRC/DOE/ASME criteria relevant to nuclear reactors.
• Provide technical guidance with partners, labs, subcontractors, suppliers and customers.
• Support plant refueling outages on-site and remotely, including 12-hour shifts and overnight work.
