Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company in Cranberry Township is seeking a Mechanical Systems Engineer to design, analyze, and implement complex thermal and piping systems for nuclear facilities. You will work with the Mechanical Systems and Equipment Nuclear Plant Mechanical Engineering group, with several on-site days and telecommuting days.

The role requires a BS in Mechanical Engineering, knowledge of HVAC, fluid systems, instrumentation interfaces, and experience with MathCad, MATLAB, VBA, or Python.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering with GPA 3.0 or higher (or related disciplines).
• Fundamental engineering knowledge and application of uncertainty treatments.
• Experience with engineering tools and numerical methods.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Perform thermal, thermal/hydraulic, and piping network design and analysis for nuclear plants or modular reactors.
• Evaluate design debt and update documentation.
• Develop sizing requirements for equipment like blowers, pumps, valves, and heat exchangers.
• Collaborate with team members and mentors; communicate progress and issues.
• Support outages and field activities as needed.
