Job summary

Franklin Electric, a leading provider of water, fuel and electricity solutions, seeks a Mechanical Engineer II in Fort Wayne, IN. You will join a global engineering team to design, test, and launch innovative products meeting real-world needs.

You will contribute to DFMEA, validation planning, and design reviews while supporting existing projects and supplier qualifications. A BS in mechanical engineering and 3+ years of experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• Three+ years of related experience in mechanical design/manufacturing.
• Experience with project management is preferred.
• Experience in pumps or rotating equipment design is preferred.
• Proficiency with Creo/SolidWorks and basic PLM tools is expected.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and launch new products.
• Design product components and plan engineering tests.
• Participate in design reviews, DFMEA, and validation planning.
• Provide engineering support for existing and improvement projects.
• Qualify new vendors, components, and tooling.
• Assist in validating foreign-sourced competing products.
• Define CTQ dimensions for components and products.
• Perform dimensional analysis and product testing as needed.
