Job summary

Generac Home is hiring a Mechanical Engineer II to support the design, analysis, validation, and development of mechanical components and assemblies related to embedded controls and power generation products. The role focuses on mechanical design for controller assemblies and supporting electronic hardware with close collaboration across engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or a directly related engineering degree required.
• Minimum 2 years of mechanical engineering experience in product design and development, with demonstrated success taking products from concept through production.
• Experience designing enclosures, sheet metal, plastics, and electromechanical assemblies preferred.
• Expert proficiency with 3D CAD and PLM and drawing release systems.

Responsibilities

• Mechanical design of electronic controller assemblies used in generator products.
• Development and support of user interface/control modules that customers interact with to operate generators.
• Mechanical design support for accessory products including thermal management and heat dissipation solutions.
• 3D modeling and Product lifecycle management (PLM).
• Product-specific mechanical design from concept through production release.
• Lead and participate in design reviews, tolerance analyses, and DFMEA activities.
• Collaborate with firmware, electrical, systems engineering, product management, and operations to define requirements and interfaces.
• Work with suppliers and manufacturing on tooling, fabrication methods, and component qualification.
