Job summary

Legrand is seeking a Mechanical Engineer II in Canonsburg, PA to support the Starline Power & Thermal Management products. You will provide electrical and mechanical engineering support for commercialization, customization, and full turnkey solutions under defined guidelines.

The role involves creating technical documentation, coordinating with production and suppliers, and ensuring product and process quality. Domestic and international travel up to 10% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum 2 years of engineering experience.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 10%.
• Prior experience with Starline products is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize and implement Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Testing (DFT) and Assembly (DFA) for turnkey solutions.
• Support the engineering team tasked with commercializing and launching Starline-designed products.
• Perform design tasks and provide feedback for customer-specific customizations of Starline products.
• Create drawings, design instructions, purchasing specifications, O&M Manuals, installation instructions, and catalogs.
• Support integration of third-party products with Starline’s offerings.
• Conduct testing, verify performance, system integration, and standards compliance.
• Collaborate with Production, Quality, and Purchasing to ensure manufacturability.
• Assist in improving Starline’s engineering information systems for quality data delivery to Production.
• Support the automation of design tasks and guide drafters toward project goals.
• Review and check the work of others, including drafters and engineers.
• Collaborate with certification laboratories such as VDE and provide testing support.
• Participate in team-based initiatives within Starline.
