Job summary

The Ash Group is actively seeking a Mechanical Engineer II for a 12-month contract in Plano, TX. You will design, analyze, and deliver heavy structural modifications for aerospace programs, using SolidWorks or Catia and conducting FEA/CFD/thermal simulations to ensure performance and compliance.

Responsibilities include drafting CAD drawings, supporting certification documentation, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across the product lifecycle.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • 3+ years of experience in heavy structural modifications and aerospace design.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks or Catia CAD tools is a must.
  • Experience with engineering simulation tools such as FEA, CFD, and thermal analysis.
  • Knowledge of ASME Y14.5 GD&T.
  • Experience in multi-disciplinary design and development teams.

Summary

The Ash Group is hiring a Mechanical Engineer II (24529) for our client, a high-tech aerospace and defense contractor delivering complex technology solutions for national security and space exploration. This is a 12-month contract position working in Plano, TX (Onsite). We are offering a pay rate up to $44 per hour W2 based on skill set.

  • Compensation: $44/hr W2
  • Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, and direct primary care benefits. After six months of employment, enjoy a 4% matched 401(k) plan with immediate 100% vesting.
  • Duration: 12-months

Mechanical Engineer II responsible for designing and developing heavy structural modifications for aircraft modernization projects, applying CAD tools and aerospace design principles to deliver high‑quality airframe structures. Works within a multidisciplinary team to ensure performance, safety, and compliance throughout the product lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Industry knowledge of mechanical design principles, parametric design, model‑based definition, material selection, manufacturing, and production processes
