Job summary

The Ash Group is actively seeking a Mechanical Engineer II for a 12-month contract in Plano, TX. You will design, analyze, and deliver heavy structural modifications for aerospace programs, using SolidWorks or Catia and conducting FEA/CFD/thermal simulations to ensure performance and compliance.

Responsibilities include drafting CAD drawings, supporting certification documentation, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across the product lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 3+ years of experience in heavy structural modifications and aerospace design.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks or Catia CAD tools is a must.
• Experience with engineering simulation tools such as FEA, CFD, and thermal analysis.
• Knowledge of ASME Y14.5 GD&T.
• Experience in multi-disciplinary design and development teams.

Responsibilities

• Research and analyze mechanical requirements for structural modifications.
• Design and model aircraft components using SolidWorks or Catia.
• Develop detailed CAD drawings and specifications.
• Conduct simulations and analysis (FEA, CFD, thermal) to validate designs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate mechanical systems.
• Prepare and review documentation for certification and compliance.
• Assist in prototype testing and performance verification.
• Update and improve product designs throughout lifecycle.
