Job summary

Yamaha Motor Corporation, USA is seeking a Mechanical Engineer II to join our Marine team in Kennesaw, GA. The role focuses on the development of marine propellers and applying advanced analysis techniques to design and production.

You will analyze hydrodynamics, perform FEA/CFD, support cross-functional teams, and drive optimization using NX/CAx tools. Occasional travel to testing sites and Yamaha Motor Japan may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Marine Engineering.
• 3+ years of experience designing consumer or industrial products.
• Experience in marine industry product design preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop marine propellers for outboard engines through hydrodynamics and structural analysis.
• Coordinate on-water testing from concept through production.
• Develop and implement advanced CAE processes for marine products.
• Perform FEA/CFD analyses to support cross-functional product development.
• Learn and apply established development processes and drive continuous improvement.

Yamaha has an excellent opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer II to join our Marine team in Kennesaw, GA. In this role youwill be responsible for the development of marine propellers and application of advanced analysis techniques to design of marine products. Evaluation of existing products and development of new products from proof of concept through production.

What you'll be doing:

• Develop marine propellers for outboard engines through analysis of hydrodynamics, structural mechanics, and manufacturability.
• Coordination and planning of on-water testing and evaluation from proof of concept through production.
• Develop and implement advanced CAE processes for design of marine products.
• FEA/CFD analysis to support product development on cross-functional teams.
• Learn established development processes and assist with continuous process improvement to improve efficiency

What you need to be successful:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Marine Engineering.
• 3+ years of experience designing consumer or industrial products.
• 3+ years of experience in marine industry product design preferred.
• Proven experience in cross-functional teams.
• Proven experience applying FEA and/or CFD to product development, experience with NX NASTRAN/STAR-CCM+ preferred.
• Highly Skilled with 3D CAD tools like SolidWorks, NX, CAESES, etc.
• Experience or project work using formal optimization techniques preferred.
• Programming in Matlab, C/C++, Python, etc.
• Willingness to travel to Yamaha Motor Japan, suppliers, and testing sites as needed.
