Job summary

Heath is seeking a Mechanical Engineer II in Houston to design, prototype, test, document, and debug electromechanical products for methane emission detection equipment. You will use 3D CAD tools, apply drawing layouts, and contribute to the launch of innovative products.

The role requires local presence in the Houston area (near Hobby Airport) for interviews and work environment, with responsibilities spanning design, testing, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration with manufacturing

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline.
• 2–5 years in an R&D/Manufacturing/Engineering environment.
• Sills in teamwork and presenting technical information.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Teams, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio, Excel, Word).
• SolidWorks 3D CAD and 2D Drawings; basic GD&T.
• Experience with PLM or document management systems.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate mechanical and electromechanical systems applying engineering principles.
• Develop products by analyzing requirements, materials, and fabrication methods.

Position Summary

The Mechanical Engineer II will provide engineering skills to the Product Business Unit in the development of our methane emission detection equipment. Mechanical Engineer designs, prototypes, tests, documents, and debugs electromechanical products to support the successful launch of innovative products. This individual will use 3D CAD tools and apply drawing layout, dimensioning, and tolerancing.

Position Summary

The Mechanical Engineer II will provide engineering skills to the Product Business Unit in the development of our methane emission detection equipment. Mechanical Engineer designs, prototypes, tests, documents, and debugs electromechanical products to support the successful launch of innovative products. This individual will use 3D CAD tools and apply drawing layout, dimensioning, and tolerancing.

Candidates MUST be local to the Houston, TX area( Near Hobby Airport) for the interview process and work environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluates mechanical and electromechanical systems and products by conducting research and applying engineering principles in mechanics, thermodynamics, hydraulics, heat transfer, and materials science.
• Develops mechanical and electromechanical products by analyzing customer requirements, evaluating manufacturing and assembly methods, selecting materials, and incorporating feedback from operators and stakeholders.
• Applies design principles, when appropriate, for:
  • Reliability, test, safety, manufacturability, assembly, inspection, user-friendliness, ergonomics, aesthetics, environment, and disassembly.
• Brainstorms, models, and prototypes mechanical concepts using 3D CAD and additive manufacturing methods.
• Ensures system and product quality by:
  • Developing test methods and fixtures
  • Verifying & validating finished-product performance by evaluating durability, ergonomics, and serviceability
  • Collaborating with manufacturing & sales to ensure correct fabrication, assembly, and installation processes.
• Improves manufacturing processes by designing, selecting, and modifies equipment used to fabricate, assemble, and install components.
• Contributes to manufacturing and test procedures for assigned projects. Additionally, will Train operators and/or technicians
• Prepares technical and product reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data, findings, and trends.
• Provides engineering support by responding to technical questions and requests from customers, sales teams, and internal stakeholders.
• Supports compliance and protects company reputation by ensuring adherence to applicable government regulations and industry standards.

Knowledge, Skills, & Education

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or discipline complementary to instrumentation design and development.
• 2-5 years in an R&D /Manufacturing / Engineering environment and/or job experience in instrumentation development.
• Collaborating within a team environment.

• This position is based out of an office and normally takes place in an office or manufacturing environment. Other locations consist of customer sites, including outdoor locations related to the gas and utilities infrastructure.
