Job summary

Legrand is seeking a Mechanical Engineer I to support commercialization, application, and customization of Starline products. You will work under supervision to design for manufacturability and facilitate product launches, collaborating with production, quality, and purchasing teams.

You will create technical drawings, manuals, and installation instructions, while assisting in integrating third-party products and coordinating lab testing with certification bodies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in mechanical engineering, professional or academic setting.
• Familiarity with low voltage power distribution equipment preferred.
• Familiarity with electrical codes and standards preferred.
• Travel up to 10% domestically and internationally.
• Internship/co-op experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize and implement DFM/DFT/DFA and full turnkey solutions.
• Support the engineering team for commercialization and product launches.
• Assist in customer-specific customizations of Starline products.
• Create drawings, O&M manuals, installation instructions, and product catalogs.
• Support integration of third-party products with Starline offerings.
• Conduct testing to verify performance and standards compliance.
• Collaborate with Production, Quality, and Purchasing for manufacturability.
• Assist in improving engineering information systems for high-quality data.
• Support automation of design tasks.
• Provide jobsite support.
• Coordinate with labs such as UL/CSA/ETL and international agencies.
• Provide lab testing support.
• Participate in team initiatives.
