Job summary

Automated Design Corporation in Illinois is seeking a Mechanical Engineer at Engineer I or II to design, draft, assemble, and troubleshoot automated systems. This role blends SolidWorks design with hands-on work on real-world projects.

Engineer II candidates will lead parts and subsystems, apply GD&T, plan testing, and collaborate with manufacturing and suppliers to drive reliable, cost-effective designs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• SolidWorks experience or project work acceptable for Engineer I.
• Understanding of mechanical principles, materials, tolerances, and manufacturing processes.
• Ability to work hands-on with tools and mechanical assemblies.
• Strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Create and modify parts, assemblies, and detailed 2D drawings in SolidWorks.
• Generate and maintain bills of materials (BOMs) and manage drawing revisions.
• Apply tolerancing to ensure proper fit, function, and manufacturability.
• Assist with prototype builds and system assembly.
• Help diagnose and resolve mechanical issues during assembly and integration.
• Follow and contribute to company engineering standards and practices.
