Job summary

Textron Systems in Slidell, LA is seeking a Mechanical Engineer I to contribute to design challenges and cross-functional projects. You will model with NX and SolidWorks, manage designs in PLM, and produce ASME-compliant drawings for on-site fabrication.

The role emphasizes hands-on development, mentorship, and growth through hands-on experience, with a 9/80 schedule and potential relocation support. This entry-level position is onsite at Textron Systems.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or have completed a bachelor's or master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Technical internship experience preferred
• Ability to work a 9/80 schedule (with every other Friday off!)

Responsibilities

• Provide creative solutions to mechanical engineering design challenges.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams of engineers.
• Create solid models using NX and SolidWorks.
• Perform design capture and configuration management via PLM systems.
• Create engineering drawings for manufacturing per ASME standards.
• Develop designs compatible with on-site fabrication and assembly processes.
• Assess structures using theory and analysis tools.
• Consider integration of engines and generators into hybrid platforms.
