Job summary

Affiliated Engineers, Inc. (AEI) is seeking a Mechanical Engineer I in our Austin office to help clients achieve energy-efficient building solutions and greener outcomes.

You will work under mentors, perform load calculations, size systems, and contribute to project success from design through construction. You will gain hands-on experience, collaborate with engineers and designers, and progressively lead mechanical teams, write specs, and participate in client meetings on diverse healthcare,

Qualifications

• BSME/BSAE from ABET accredited school.
• Minimum GPA of 2.5.
• Non-academic internship is preferred.
• Leadership involvement in extracurricular activities preferred.
• EIT certification (FE) a plus.
• Internship experience in the MEP consulting engineering field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform load calculations and determine system sizing and layouts.
• Calculate equipment sizes and select equipment for projects.
• Complete field surveys and review equipment shop drawings.
• Lead mechanical project teams as you gain experience.
• Write specifications and participate in project meetings with clients and other consultants.
• Support construction-phase work as needed.
