Job summary

Plug Power is seeking an entry-level Mechanical Engineer I to support ELX and FC stack programs at the Rochester Innovation Center. You will perform teardown, test stand operation, and data collection while developing core engineering skills in CAD, DFMEA, and root-cause analysis.

Ideal for a recent graduate with hands-on lab experience who is eager to contribute to stack hardware improvements and testing capabilities in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Mechanical Engineering (required).
• 0–2 years of experience; internships or co-ops acceptable.
• Exposure to PEM fuel cell or electrolyzer stack hardware is a plus.
• CAD experience (Creo/Windchill a plus).
• Interest in GD&T, FEA/CFD, and DFMEA.

Responsibilities

• Support stack failure-analysis activities including teardown and root-cause investigation.
• Operate 1 kW to 1 MW PEM/ELX test stands and data acquisition.
• Develop new test procedures, fixtures, and data collection methods.
• Document findings with clear reports and presentations.
• Assist with CAD modeling and design documentation for stack components.
