Job summary

Plug Power is seeking a Mechanical Engineer II for the Stack Engineering team in Rochester, NY. You will design fuel cell stack components, create large 3D CAD models, and develop BOMs for production release within a fast-paced, cross functional environment.

The role emphasizes Creo/Windchill, GD&T, and prototype testing, with travel up to 10% and a focus on cost, manufacturability, and reliability.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 3+ years design and development experience.
• Experience with fuel cell stack design preferred.
• Creo/ Windchill experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support engineering design activities for fuel stack components from concept through detailed design, prototyping, and production release.
• Develop and apply modeling tools and analysis techniques to meet design requirements; background in FEA/CFD preferred.
• Create and maintain large 3D CAD system assembly models, part drawings, and BOMs (Creo experience preferred).
• Apply GD&T to ensure proper component fit and function.
• Plan hands-on prototype builds and testing to validate design feasibility for production release.
• Collaborate with stack manufacturing, quality, and suppliers to ensure low cost, high quality components at required volumes.
