Job summary

Plug Power’s Rochester Innovation Center is seeking a Mechanical Engineer II for Stack Engineering to design fuel cell stack components and integrate them into assemblies. You will maintain large 3D CAD models (Creo), create drawings and BOMs, and support prototypes from concept through production release.

Collaboration with manufacturing and quality is essential to deliver high-quality parts. The ideal candidate has a BS in Mechanical Engineering with 3+ years of design experience, experience

Qualifications

• BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 3+ years in design and development from concept to production release; fuel cell stack design preferred.
• Strong CAD modeling, drawings, and BOM management; Creo/Windchill experience preferred.
• Experience with GD&T, FEA, CFD, and DFMEAs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop fuel stack components from concept through production release.
• Create and maintain large 3D CAD assembly models and BOMs (Creo experience preferred).
• Apply tolerance analyses and GD&T to ensure proper fit and function.
• Plan and conduct prototype builds and testing to validate design feasibility.
• Collaborate with stack manufacturing, quality, and suppliers to ensure manufacturability and cost targets.
• Conduct DFMEA analyses and design reviews; document designs accordingly.
• Support stack testing activities and component characterization.
