Job summary

Daifuku Airport America Corporation is seeking a Mechanical Engineer I to join the Airport Baggage Handling engineering team in Novi, MI. You will participate in design and detailing for conveyor equipment, platforms, and header steel, while learning to take on more complex responsibilities such as system layouts and field support.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology, 1-3 years of experience, and familiarity with CAD tools such as

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology.
• 1-3 years experience.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Experience with Cad/AutoCad, SolidWorks, Inventor.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, or computer-generated reports.
• Use CAD tools to develop system design and support structures with other engineers.
• Research, design, evaluate, install, operate, and maintain mechanical products and systems.
• Confer with engineers to implement procedures and resolve malfunctions.
• Recommend design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions.
• Investigate equipment failures and diagnose issues to advise maintenance.
• Develop and test models of alternate designs to assess feasibility and modification needs.
• Coordinate production aspects, including selection of manufacturing methods and operation of product designs.
• Specify system components or direct modification to meet specifications.
