Job summary

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is seeking a Mechanical Engineer I in Norwich, CT to contribute to static analyses, FEA, and design support for shipboard systems. The role requires a Secret clearance, U.S. citizenship, and the ability to perform ship checks on U.S.

Nuclear Submarines, including work in confined spaces and climbing ladders. You will participate in material selection, QA reviews, and supporting the design team with specifications to meet military standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, civil or structural engineering.
  • Ability to maintain a DOD Secret Clearance.
  • U.S. Citizenship Required for the purposes of obtaining/holding a U.S. security clearance
  • Physically capable to conduct ship checks on United States Nuclear Submarines:
  • Be comfortable in relatively confined spaces.
  • Capable of climbing vertical ladders (20' - 25') within the submarine.
  • At least Zero (0) to Two (2) years business experience in:

Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
