Job summary

KPFF Special Projects Group in Seattle and Tacoma seeks a Mechanical Engineer with 3-6 years of experience to join our team. You will work on a variety of heavy civil, structural, and waterfront projects, applying machine design principles and fundamentals of statics, dynamics, and fluid mechanics.

Proficiency in SolidWorks is highly preferred, with experience in AutoCAD and Revit; you will collaborate closely with project teams and clients in a hybrid work environment across multiple offices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• EIT certification is required.
• Exposure to project engineering and project management.
• Strong understanding of machine design principles, statics, dynamics, kinematics, fluid mechanics, and strength of materials.
• Familiarity with force analysis including free-body diagrams and shear/bending/moment diagrams.
• Knowledge of stress analysis including finite element analysis (FEA).
• Familiarity with design of weldments and bearings/tools.

Responsibilities

• The role involves contributing to mechanical engineering efforts across Seattle/Tacoma projects.
• Collaborate with project team members and clients on a variety of projects.
• Apply mechanical engineering concepts to design and analysis tasks.
• Support design/documentation using SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and Revit.
