Job summary

Salas O’Brien in Tysons, VA is seeking a Mechanical Engineer/Designer to design HVAC systems for multi-family, data centers, and commercial spaces. You will produce drawings in AutoCAD and Revit and conduct field investigations.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s or master’s in engineering and at least 5 years of HVAC experience, with strong knowledge of HVAC systems, load calculations, and codes. This role offers performance-based bonuses and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Educational Background: Bachelor's or Master's degree in an Engineering field.
• Experience: 5+ years of experience in HVAC design and construction.
• Technical Skills: duct design, piping design, air handlers, heat pump, and boiler systems.
• Load calculations, equipment selection and design.
• Code knowledge: IBC, IMC and IECC, DDC controls, HAP or Energy Pro.
• Adaptability: Flexibility and willingness to work on various projects and tasks.
• Initiative: Demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative to drive projects forward.

Responsibilities

• Design Heating, Ventilating & Air Conditioning Systems for various types of facilities.
• Produce mechanical design drawings in AutoCAD and/or Revit software.
• Perform field investigations.
• Coordinate quality control, scheduling, and programming.
• Coordinate and communicate information and progress with all three disciplines (mechanical, electrical and plumbing).
